The mould made base of Innova Editions® Fabriano Printmaking Rag 310gsm is produced at the Fabriano paper mill in Italy. One of the oldest paper mills in the world, dating back to the late 13th Century, Fabriano is known as the birthplace of European paper making. Used by the old masters to produce etching prints and drawings, Fabriano Printmaking Rag has long been one of the most renowned papers in Europe.
This cotton rag fine art paper has been coated with an inkjet receptive layer enabling contemporary creatives to print their work on the same surface used by the old masters. The soft grain matte surface provides a subtle texture to the printed surface whilst the natural white tone provides a neutral base. The mould made process used to create the base creates a random pattern within the fibres, providing an element of subtle differentiation between the surface pattern of different prints.
Made from 100% cotton linters, free from acid and lignin, Innova Editions® Fabriano Printmaking Rag 310gsm meets museum quality archival standards.
